Circular economy is an economic model that aims to minimize waste and maximize the use of resources by recycling, reusing, and reducing input materials. Instead of the traditional linear model, which follows “produce – consume – dispose,” the circular economy focuses on extending the lifecycle of products as long as possible.
The main principles of a circular economy include:
- Designing out waste and pollution: Products and processes are designed to minimize waste from the start.
- Keeping products and materials in use: Resources are reused through repair, upgrading, repurposing, and recycling.
- Regenerating natural systems: Promotes the use of renewable resources while also creating value for nature.
This model helps reduce reliance on new resources and minimizes environmental pollution.
