In June–July 2025, the editorial team of the Metal Recycling Association of India (MRAI) conducted a fact-finding mission in Vietnam, delving deep into how local businesses are shaping the future of the non-ferrous and ferrous metal recycling industries in the region.
From North to South, the delegation visited prominent enterprises, including:
- TSM Copper Recycling Factory – Innovations in environmentally friendly copper processing
- Dulico – Large-scale copper recycling, exporting to Japan & Canada
- Metalink Co. Ltd – A trading company specializing in importing steel scrap
- Minh Dung Aluminum & Van Loi Aluminum – Leading domestic recycled aluminum enterprises
- Nguyet Minh 2 Recycling Factory – Strategic partner of Shinsho Group (Japan)

The trip concluded with an in-depth working session with the Vietnam Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling Forum (VMRF), represented by Mr. Doan Nhat Hoa and Ms. Tran Thi Van Anh. Key topics of discussion included:
- Source segregation policy for waste (effective 2025)
- Challenges posed by the informal collection sector
- Regulations on scrap import & EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility)
- Aspiration to develop “green steel” and “circular metals” in Vietnam
This journey not only broadened understanding but also marked the beginning of deep cooperation among MRAI, VMRF, and Vietnam’s metal recycling community, aiming for sustainable development, international integration, and circular trade.
