During the second meeting at the VMRF Office, VMRF and Circulate Capital continued discussions on potential collaboration to create practical value for the Vietnamese metal recycling business community.
The focus this time went beyond connecting investment opportunities, aiming to share knowledge, raise awareness, and help businesses gain a clearer understanding of ESG, EPR, as well as how to access green capital and Impact Investment Funds.
Circulate Capital proposed partnering with VMRF to implement two independent online programs for the community.
Circulate Capital proposed organizing online learning/sharing sessions with experts to help businesses:
- Gain an accurate and practical understanding of ESG and EPR;
- Identify new requirements from customers, markets, and international supply chains;
- Understand how ESG relates to governance, environment, traceability, and access to capital;
- Know where to start and how to prepare, rather than viewing ESG merely as a reporting or procedural requirement.
Both parties aim to make the program practical, easy to understand, and applicable to the current reality of Vietnamese recycling enterprises.
VMRF and Circulate Capital agreed on the need for dedicated online sessions to provide more details on investment opportunities from Circulate Capital for metal recycling businesses in Vietnam.
The planned content will focus on:
- Types of enterprises Circulate Capital invests in;
- Investment scale and structures;
- Key eligibility criteria for enterprise consideration;
- Factors investors evaluate when assessing businesses;
- What businesses need to prepare regarding finance, governance, ESG, and growth plans;
- Potential uses of the capital funds;
- Common reasons why businesses fail to meet investment requirements.
Notably, the program will dedicate time for businesses to ask questions and engage directly with Circulate Capital regarding concerns or unclear aspects of accessing international capital.
The goal is to help businesses realize that accessing green capital is not far out of reach, but requires proper and transparent preparation.
